The development process begins with the purchase of a property followed by developing a conceptual design. We like to create a 3D representation to help visualize the preliminary design concepts & bringing the ideas to life.

Initial design details are discussed for interior & exterior finishes. Pinterest Boards & inspirational photos are highly recommended to help aid in deciding your overall dream home aesthetic.

The next phase is to design the space to the Project Requirements. For EcoSmart, we are committed to building show-stopping, NetZero ready home with sustainable building materials that compete with the current market.

The design needs to meet building code requirements and pass a review by the authorities having jurisdiction for issuing the building permit.

Selections are based off of a Target Cost Design Strategy in which materials are chosen that coincide with budgetary requirements. Product selections by our designer are presented for final review & approval. This is done prior to construction start date on your future home.

Floor plans have been reviewed & all customizations have been made. Interior & Exterior material selections have been reviewed & approved with costs locked in to ensure budgetary requirements are met. We are now ready to apply for permit and move forward with construction on the home.

For infill homes, demolition of existing home must be done prior. For vacant lots, foundation is dug and forms are set. New sewer services are connected & backfill takes place.

Exterior Frame takes shape & the shell of your home becomes visual. Windows are installed & roofing is complete.

Plumbing, mechanical & electrical rough-in takes place. This stage involves a client walk-through to go over the placement of fixtures, plugs & interior features.

Drywall is complete and the interior space can be felt. This is a great time to walkthrough the home to visualize your interior selections, measure up furniture sizing & confirm overall layout & placement of interior selections.

1st Coat of paint is complete, tile has been laid, cabinetry is set in place & flooring is installed. This is one of the final steps in the build process & means that completion of the home is near. Get Excited !

Prior to occupancy, we will do a walkthrough of the home to ensure you are familiar with the mechanical, operations, maintenance & overall function of your new EcoSmart high performance home.

Possession Day! Move in to your brand new, fully finished home & enjoy.
